Engagement photos provide a great opportunity for both you and your photographer to work together prior to your wedding day. With each of my weddings, I include an engagement session in your package. Not only does this give you amazing photos to use on your save the date cards, but it allows us to develop a relationship before your big day.
Karson + Daniel are one of the cutest couples I have ever met and I am so excited to shoot their wedding next May. I shot their engagement session at Hauser Estate Winery, one of my favorite locations for couples. Their breathtaking views of Gettysburg and acres of orchards and vineyards are ideal for intimate, romantic sessions.
Before our session, Karson texted me pictures of the dresses she planned to wear. It makes me so happy when clients do this because it allows me to not only see what their vision is for the session but also plan ahead for what we’re going to do. The two dresses she chose perfectly complemented our setting.
Working with Karson + Daniel was such a joy. They made each other laugh the whole evening and were so open to trying each location at the winery I suggested. There were some old apple crates stacked behind the building. At first glance, it may have looked like trash. However, all I saw was a photographer’s dream backdrop. The overgrown grass, the vintage texture of the crates and beautiful light shining down were more than I could have ever hoped for! Karson + Daniel trusted me completely and dove right into my idea with no questions asked.
As the sun was setting, I was able to capture some of my favorite shots of the day. Standing in the tall grass with the mountains and setting sun behind them, the light struck all the edges of Karson’s hair. It-was-stunning! At the very end, I had them switch sides and even joked with Daniel about how good his hair looked in the light as well.
Karson + Daniel, thank you for choosing me to photograph your engagement photos and wedding. I can hardly wait for your wedding next May. If it is half as fun as your engagement session was, it’s going to be the best wedding yet.
