If I was born with unlimited energy, I would be around newborns all the time! I can’t get enough of watching them figure out the world around them and seeing how their little features change from day to day. It’s truly magical and being able to capture birth stories, fresh 48s and newborns fill my soul with so much happiness.
Amanda + William, who just welcomed baby Mary, recommended Jamie Fisher Collective to Sam + Dan as they were searching for a photographer. While this was the first time I had met the new parents (round two), they were so welcoming and kind, it felt like we had known each other for years. Sam + Dan are on cloud nine with Griffin’s arrival. They were filled with so much joy that I told Sam that it didn’t even look like they had been up all night trying to figure out newborn life again.
From Sam: My favorite memory just occurred last night! Dan and I sat in the kids’ bedroom and read stories to both of them. Our family just felt so complete. Cooper loved having Griffin there and was showing him pictures in his books. Our hearts swelled! Griffin is such a relaxed baby! He loves looking at himself in the mirror and looking at mommy, daddy, and his brother’s faces! He isn’t a huge fan of his swing yet but loves being held and rocked. We are so blessed to have our two boys!
Sam + Dan are also parents to two-year-old Cooper who was there during the first part of our session. Cooper had just met baby Griffin that morning and is so excited to be a big brother. He wore his big brother t-shirt to the hospital and brought along his favorite race cars. Cooper + Griffin are going to have so much fun playing together as they grow!
Fresh 48 sessions are so incredibly special and I love capturing as many hospital items as I can. Items like Griffin’s birth card, the hospital bracelets worn by mom, dad and baby, the little hat/blankets they are first wrapped in, footprints and even the baby comb are details you’ll want to remember forever.
While it’s important to capture each little feature of a new baby from fingers to toes to lips, there was one feature of Griffin’s I couldn’t help but highlight – his full head of brown hair! Many babies born with a full head of hair have very dark, almost black hair, but not Griffin. On top of that, it was so thick that we HAD to comb it before our session. He practically needs a haircut already! It was absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to see how thick his hair is as he grows.
Sam + Dan, thank you for allowing me to capture your newest little bundle. Griffin is such a sweet little guy already and you two make having a newborn and a toddler look easy. Enjoy all the snuggles and embrace every minute of this phase because he’ll be running around with Cooper before you know it!
