Maternity leave with our sweet little Cooper has been nothing short of perfect and it became even sweeter when I got to meet little Mary for the first time. Mary is the newest addition to the Ott Family, born just two days after Cooper.

Amanda reached out early in her pregnancy to schedule a Fresh 48 for the beginning of April, her original due date. But, Mary couldn’t wait to meet her amazing family so she joined the world about a month early. After a brief stay in the NICU, she joined mom Amanda, dad William, and big brother Anthony at home. Our session quickly changed to an in-home newborn one, but am so happy I was able to sneak away from maternity leave for a couple of hours to capture the newest member of the EBJ family.

Anthony could not have been more excited to be a big brother. His love for Mary is already overflowing and I know they are going to be the best friends as they grow. The moment I arrived, he was anxious to show off “his baby” and took every opportunity he could to love on her. Capturing the bond they share already was one of my highlights from this session.

From Amanda: One of my favorite memories is Anthony meeting Mary for the first time. We could see so much love on Anthony’s face as he looked at his sister. He absolutely adores her! Mary is a sweet baby with a mind of her own already. She hardly cries and loves to sleep. When she is awake, she is super active and strong. She completes our little family.

With newborn sessions, you don’t need a lot of items or outfit changes. A beautiful swaddle and a meaningful piece or two add the right amount of personalization to your session still allowing the focus to be on your sweet babe. In Mary’s nursery is an heirloom wooden bassinet built by Amanda’s great grandfather. Amanda + William used it with Anthony and now it’s Mary’s turn.

In addition to her tiny little features and the heirloom bassinet, we were sure to capture bedding design and even a crocheted owl hat that was given as a baby shower gift.

Amanda + William, thank you for letting me capture your sweet baby girl. Mary is absolutely perfect! Watching her and Anthony together makes my heart happy and I can’t wait to capture their relationship as it grows over the years.
