coral summertime cunningham falls lake family session

Cunningham Falls Lake is one of my favorite locations for family sessions. The number of different settings in one location make it so that we can get variety in your photos. Plus if you have young children, changing spots throughout your session keeps them interested and anticipating the next area they get to explore.

I met Amanda + William and their son, Anthony, at the lake for their first outdoor family session. While they’ve had professional family photos every year, they have always been in an indoor studio environment. After talking with their friends and longtime Expressions client’s Lydia + Luke, they opted for outdoor photos this year and couldn’t have been happier that they did.

From Amanda: We are a family of three that loves to go on new adventures.  We love watching our son grow and develop. Our favorite memory right now is our beach trip we recently took.  Watching Anthony experience the ocean and all of the beach activities is our favorite thing to do!

Dressed in shades of coral, the whole family was perfectly coordinated and contrasted beautifully with the dewey green grass. Since it had rained for a couple of days prior to their session, the bright green hue of the grass really popped in the photos creating a gorgeous summer backdrop.

Anthony is an energetic and active little three year old. He loves to be outside and had a blast playing on the sandy beaches of the lake. Since we mixed up our backdrops and explored new areas around the lake, Anthony was always ready to smile big for the camera and stayed entertained throughout the session.

Amanda + William, I’m so happy you choose me to capture your beautiful family this year. Anthony is so sweet and playful and I loved getting to experience Cunningham Falls Lake through his little eyes. Hopefully this will be the first of many outdoor family sessions for you!
