Since I first met Gabby + Cameron, they have focused on bringing faith, love and meaning into every element of their wedding. From their engagement session at the university where they met, and would soon say “I Do”, to their wedding day, every detail was chosen with purpose. When a couple pays special attention to creating a day that centers around their stories, both as individuals and as a couple, it creates a truly personal and perfect day.
With family being incredibly important to both Gabby + Cameron, they incorporated their families into every aspect of their wedding. Gabby began the day by getting ready at her parent’s home where she grew up surrounded by her maid of honor, bridesmaids and even her two brothers. Gabby’s sister, a licensed cosmetologist, who pulled double duty as a bridesmaid even did everyone’s hair and make-up for the big day.
From Cameron: My favorite moment from our big day was seeing her walk down the aisle. I know it’s always the moment everyone talks about the most and now I understand why! I was so excited and overwhelmed with joy in that moment, I teared up almost immediately. Now that we are married, I’m just looking forward to living out everyday life together and turning the ordinary day to day activities into the extraordinary.
Gabby + Cameron were married at Chapel of Immaculate Conception on the campus of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, where they would attend services together while in school. They have always been very open about their desire to have a family. During their ceremony, Gabby + Cameron including the Catholic tradition of praying before the shrine of the Virgin Mary. The tradition recognizes the role of Mary as the Mother of God, the Church and all the faithful. During prayer, couples request Mary pray for them as they begin their own family.
It seems things always have a way of having the perfect timing , even if you don’t realize from the start. When Gabby + Cameron booked me for their wedding, my husband and I had no plans of growing our own family any further than Claire + Caroline. When we learned there would be a third little Fisher added to our gang I quickly realized I would be 35 weeks pregnant at the time of Gabby + Cameron’s wedding. Making the phone call to a perfect EBJ couple that I knew could potentially go elsewhere had me so anxious to pick up the phone. We had already made such an amazing connection at their engagement session, they allowed me to see their true selves and what their relationship was about – I had already fallen in love with them as a couple and their story and didn’t want to see it come to an end. When I let them know the news, they were filled with nothing but well wishes and wanted to keep me as their photographer as long as I was comfortable doing so – I was overjoyed!
For their big day, I of course made extra arrangements for the just in case and had not only a talented second shooter that could completely handle the wedding on her own but also an intern and an equipment assistant with me. My intern also had his camera and was shooting as well. But, realizing we had most of the shots covered, he surprised us all by filming portions of their day and putting together a video highlight reel for Gabby + Cameron. Since they didn’t have a videographer, they were happily surprised when, along with their images, they received video from their day. I know it’s something they’ll cherish for years to come.
From Gabby: My favorite part of the day was exchanging vows. We get so caught up in the little things when planning a wedding, it’s easy to forget what it’s all about. But, once the ceremony started and I promised myself to the love of my life, nothing else mattered. I’m mostly looking forward to having someone to share all of life’s ups and downs with. No matter what life throws at us, I’ll have him by my side from now on.
Following the ceremony, all of their guests traveled to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Union Bridge, Maryland, where they celebrated the new Mr. and Mrs. in a timelessly beautiful reception complete with little surprises from the people they loved the most.
The weather on their wedding day had us all on our toes. With snow and ice in the forecast, we were concerned the inclement weather may put a damper on things. But, nothing could stop this beautiful couple from having the most perfect day. Even, their wedding portraits got to have an added special touch with the snow falling around them!
Gabby + Cameron, I could not be happier for the two of you as you start your lives together as husband and wife. Your day was just as amazing as the two of you and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!
