I absolutely LOVE getting the opportunity to work with couples like Gabby + Cameron! Most clients don’t spend a lot of time in front of the camera, so naturally, I provide them with some cue’s and prompts to make them more comfortable. However, these two didn’t need any tips from me! Completely lost in love, it’s like I wasn’t even there and capturing their admiration for each other was such a treat.
Gabby + Cameron met when Gabby was a student at Mount St. Mary’s University and it has always had special meaning in their relationship. It was only fitting that we return to the place where it all started, and where they’ll become husband and wife, to capture their engagement session.
From Gabby: So far my favorite memory of our engagement was choosing our vows. We looked at the two different options the Catholic Church gives us and read them through together. And almost immediately after finishing we both picked the same version without knowing which one the other preferred for the same reasons. We both felt the vows we chose perfectly described our relationship and how we intend to live out our marriage. While it’s still months away it was an amazing moment getting to read through the promises we intend to make to each other and reminded me of what marriage is really about.
Whenever I have to describe Cameron to a stranger the first thing that comes to mind is “He’s amazing.” One of my favorite things about him is how willing he is to do anything not just for me, but for everyone. He’s extremely supportive and sweet, he can be very serious and thoughtful at times but other times a complete goof, and as stubborn as I am which keeps things exciting. He pushes me daily to be a better person and I love that about him.
We even visited the campus chapel where they will be married next year. When Gabby was a student, they attended mass here regularly. Upon walking through the doors, they made their way to their usual pew and prayed together over their relationship with Cameron holding the rosary Gabby had given him as a gift.
From Cameron: Gabby is the most kind, caring, and supportive person I’ve ever met. When she is around people, she has this beautiful way of making everyone laugh and have a good time. She has an incredible sense of humor and an extremely contagious personality. It’s so hard to be in a bad mood when you’re around her. She devotes so much of her time and energy helping other people. I’ve never met someone who was more self-giving than she is.
We just recently signed the contract to build a home in West Virginia and that has been one of my favorite memories since the engagement. There was something so fun and exciting about picking out the home we were going to start our new life together in. It was like getting a sneak peek at what life will look like after the wedding. I’ll always have fond memories of the evenings we spent looking at houses online and picking out the different things we loved about each one. Watching how excited we both get when we see updates on the progress of the house is something I always look forward to.
Mount St. Mary’s has a beautiful campus. The white stone buildings with mountains in the background cast the perfect lighting everywhere you look. Upon arrival, Gabby + Cameron showed me around their alma mater including the exact steps where they got engaged. Reliving that memory during their engagement session brought so much joy to their faces.
Gabby + Cameron, thank you for taking me back to a place that holds such meaning in your relationship. It was indescribable to witness your love in the place where you grew the foundation of your relationship, got engaged and will soon be married. I’m so happy you allowed me to enter into such a special place. I know your wedding day will be just as meaningful and I can’t wait to capture this next chapter in your lives.
