Last week I shared a sneak peek of Diana + Corey’s beautiful wedding and today I’m excited to share more from their special day. The new Mr. + Mrs. were married at Wild Goose Farm in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and the day could not have been more perfect for the two of them.
When I arrived, I was excited to see that Diana had taken the advice I share in my client experience guide with #jfcouples. She had her details “bag” ready to go complete with an extra invitation suite, leftover ribbon/lace, loose florals.and their rings. The day began with capturing these small, but important, details before the day got started.
Diana + Corey had access to Wild Goose Farm the day before their wedding which allowed them to complete their set-up in advance. Since they used wooden flowers, every detail could be set, allowing them to fully enjoy their wedding day without worry. As an added bonus, it allowed me to capture all of their hard work and the beautiful day they had been planning for months before guests arrived. It was a photographer’s dream!
From Corey: I am so thankful for the teacher’s strike that started this amazing adventure together with Diana. She always finds ways to make me happy even when I might have a bad day at work and manages to put a smile on my face. In my vows, I promised her that I will always be the rock in her life and a shoulder for her to cry on and make everything better when life throws a curveball her way. I will always work hard to continue to be the man of her dreams throughout our many adventures that we take together in our lives. She makes me a better man than I was before and I thank God every day that I’m hers.
Because of her love and just amazing heart we had the perfect wedding as I got to marry my best friend and to make her my beautiful and amazing wife. I am looking forward to all of the wonderful adventures that we will have as a married couple and eventually as parents in the future. My wife always brings out the best in me and I am so thankful that I am able to journey through this life together with her. Diana, just remember that I will always say I love you most when you say I love you more.
No detail was too small for Diana + Corey when they were planning their big day. Every decision was made with intention and to ensure they and their guests would have the best time ever. Everywhere you looked there was a carefully thought out detail that made a big impact in their day. And the cherry on top? The barn doors on the property perfectly matched the shade of blue Diana chose for her bridesmaid dresses and created an ideal backdrop to capture her wedding dress.
When it was time for Diana to get into her wedding dress, she had her mom and maid of honor help her get into the gown behind a room dividing screen. These two were the only ones to see her in her dress before the big day so after putting it on, she did a reveal with rest of her bridesmaids before going to meet Corey for their first look.
From Diana: In my vows, I said that [Corey] makes me feel happy and so loved. [He] protects me and makes me feel secure. I’ve known that [he] was the one ever since we began talking all night during my school strike! I was sure that one day I would marry [him]. [Corey] is thoughtful and always puts others first. [He] makes others feel like they are on top of the world and gives the best hugs too- although I might be a little biased on that. [He] finds a way to calm me in the midst of anxiousness and doubt. [Corey] truly makes me the best me.
Because of his love and affection, we got everything we dreamed of: an adventure partner to travel the world with, a beautiful wedding, and ultimately somebody to love and spend the rest of our lives with. We got to spend our wedding day amongst our closest families and friends and we are thankful they were there to celebrate with us. Looking forward I am so excited to adventure together in this crazy thing called life with my husband. Corey, remember that I will always love you more!
Diana + Corey were on the fence about a first look until our 2-week-prior check-in meeting. They loved the idea of having the opportunity to take a few minutes to themselves and soak up the excitement together before guests arrive. Having an intimate moment that simultaneously calms the nerves and builds anticipation for what’s about to come is one of the sweetest moments to capture!
One of my favorite things Diana + Corey did for their wedding was skipping the traditional wedding cake. Neither are big fans of cake so instead, they had Antietam Dairy bring their ice cream truck for dessert. They even had a little “pup cream” for Diana + Corey’s dog Reece who was in attendance. It was the perfect personal touch to close out their special day!
Diana + Corey, I enjoyed every minute of your wedding day. Every detail was so perfect for the two of you and a beautiful way to start your life together as husband and wife. I know the future holds nothing but great things for you both and I can’t wait to see where it takes you!
