fall themed renfrew park family session

Colleen here! Thank you all for welcoming me with open arms and Jamie for bringing me on board. I’ve worked with Jamie years ago at the photo studio and she even photographed my engagement and wedding. I’m so excited to now be a part of the Expressions team as an associate photographer. I recently shot my first session with EBJ for this sweet family and I’m excited to share it with you all today!

F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” As the leaves change colors, the harsh heat of summer becomes a distant memory. The temperatures start to cool and a sense of togetherness fills the air. From kids starting back to school to family holidays, this season is always full of memorable moments.

Like many, Taylor + Penny and their adorable son Mezdyn love spending time outdoors this time of year. Since the family strives to spend every moment they can enjoying this beautiful season, a fall-themed session in Renfrew Park was truly representative of who they are as a family.

From Taylor: It’s my favorite season as the air gets cooler, the leaves start to fall and change colors. It’s perfect weather for a day at the park or a walk around our neighborhood, and most of all it’s October and Halloween is right around the corner. I always dreamt of having a family of my own, a child to dress up for the holidays. Picking out a costume for him to walk around to get candy, waking up early to watch him run to the gifts under the tree, the whole family around the table for turkey, a late evening under the stars for fireworks. We enjoy our days outside. If there’s one thing I could be certain about, it’s that Mezdyn loves to be outside. So, we as a family try to get out as much as we can to enjoy the weather and our time together.

The wide open spaces at Renfrew give kids a chance to run around having fun. Encouraging them to enjoy the setting of your session keeps the happy from start to finish and brings out the biggest smiles. Plus, the changing leaves in the background added the perfect fall flair.

Taylor + Penny, it was such a pleasure to capture your beautiful family. Mezdyn is absolutely adorable! I couldn’t have asked for better clients for my first session as an associate photographer with Expressions.
