backyard extended family session

When was the last time you had photos done with your extended family? From year to year, we remember to take an updated family photo with our husband or wife, kids and even the family dog. We also make sure to capture the kids during their life milestones. But, how often do you actually think to gather the whole family together for a session?

Family is the most important thing to me. Growing up, my cousins were my best friends and we would spend hours playing and hanging out together. As we’ve grown over the years, their friendships still mean the world to me and I am forever grateful for the strong family bond our parents instilled in us as kids.

Like most families, we don’t think to bring all the generations together for one big family photo regularly. That’s why the Slaybaugh Family’s session is so precious to me. Dick and Jean Slaybaugh celebrated 73 years of marriage on June 27th and in honor of this monumental moment in their lives, the whole family gathered together for one big family session.

Their three children, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren (yes great great!) came together in Dick and Jean’s backyard as we raced the rain to capture the everyone together and all the family groups. Thankfully the rain held off and we were able to capture some beautiful memories for this big, sweet family.

Dick and Jean, thank you for bringing everyone together to celebrate this special occasion and allowing me to capture the product of your life long love. Your marriage and devotion to each other over the last 73 years is nothing short of amazing.
