This has to be one of my favorite times of the year. There’s a sense of joy in the air and a twinkle of excitement in children’s eyes. With Christmas movies on an endless loop and cookies galore, what’s not to be excited about?
Twice a year I offer mini sessions to benefit a local charity. This winter I partnered with The Humane Society and loved getting to give back to a place that takes such amazing care of our four-legged friends. Last year’s mini sessions focused on the little ones with a Christmas jammie theme. But this year, the whole family joined in the fun.
Elmwood Farm Bed + Breakfast, one of my favorite places, was the backdrop. With stunning gardens like the ones featured in Erica + Seth’s maternity session and a barn full of alpacas, it’s the most beautiful place for weddings, events and photo sessions. Don’t forget Selena + Lettie, the best Innkeepers around!
Sarah + Chris and their adorable son Jaxon were the first to join me this year. Sarah coordinated their outfits perfectly opting for a red and black theme. They were festive and ready for the season with the perfect mix of solids and patterns.
From Sarah: You made us feel right and home and not self conscious at all during the photos. Jaxon even listened to you! Jaxon seems subdued to outsiders, but he is a rambunctious, loving and amazing little boy. He loves copying his daddy and giving extra hugs and kisses to his mommy. We are so excited for the holiday season with him this year, and these photos were the beginning of our holiday season planning!
For this year’s sessions, I let the beauty of Elmwood take center stage and accented it with a newly reupholstered gorgeous vintage green couch they provided us. It was the perfect spot for Jaxon to read The Polar Express with mom + dad to get in the holiday spirit!
Sarah + Chris, thank you for joining me for this year’s holiday mini session. Jaxon is such a sweet little boy and his excitement for the season is contagious. So happy to have captured some new memories for another set of our sweet friends. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
