elmwood farm family mini session

Life just got a little more fun for Kelley + Rick! One week before our mini session, they welcomed the newest member of their family, baby Ivan. He joins one year old big brother Christopher who couldn’t be happier to have a little brother.

I’ve been photographing this beautiful family since Christopher was born and I was so excited that Ivan made his debut in time to join us for this year’s session at Elmwood Farm Bed & Breakfast. Elmwood is one of my favorite locations for family sessions because there are numerous backdrop options all in one area. Plus, the kids have so much fun getting to see the alpacas!

From Kelley: Our family has just grown with the addition of Ivan O’Neill. He joins his older brother, Christopher Sumner. We had a session with Jamie when Ivan was just one week old. We found out fast that it is most challenging to make two little ones comply with a photo shoot. It didn’t help that I forgot the diaper bag with Ivan’s coordinating outfit in it. Jamie was quick to solve that problem but suggesting we wrap Ivan in his blanket. Meanwhile, Christopher was trying to run to the pastures and see the animals, causing a new chaos to the situation. Jamie helped us to laugh about it and worked with our two boys to ensure that she got some quality shots of our family. As a photographer and a mother herself, she is patient with children and their short attention spans. We smiled and laughed on the way home from our shoot at the comedy of it all and what life is now like with two boys. We have a funny story to tell about our first family photo shoot. We look forward to many more stories being made as they grow.

Like most one year olds, Christopher was ready to run around and enjoy the farm, especially the alpacas! Even though he was ready to play and have fun, he definitely showed his love for his new baby brother throughout our session. Pointing to his precious little toes and nose, even giving him the most delicate kisses, you can already see how much he cares for baby Ivan.

Kelley + Rick, thank you for allowing me to once again capture your beautiful family and newest little addition. Seeing Christopher + Ivan’s bond already makes me so happy for you all and excited to see how they grow closer over the years.
