#Jfcouples are so special to me! The nature of wedding planning gives me usually an entire year to get to know them, plus photographing them multiple times! Over the course of our time together, I’m able to capture some of the most important moments in their life to date and we often become great friends. For a lot of my couples, I even have the opportunity to continue to capture their legacy as they grow their families, which makes my heart swell with joy just thinking about it! These relationships are ones I cherish dearly.

Jessica is the sister of long time client and friend Mandi and I was beyond excited to capture her and Mark’s engagement pictures. I even sent a text to Mandi inbetween engagement session locations telling her that Jessica was the sweetest! I instantly loved these two! Jessica + Mark’s story is similar to mine and my husband’s. Like Ricky and I, Jessica + Mark have had a long engagement, six years to be exact. It’s not often you meet another couple that also chose a long engagement and this was something we bonded over immediately.

Jessica + Mark both grew up on farms and their wedding will take place on their farm next year so it was only fitting that the farm theme be where we capture their engagement session as well. We began their session at Jessica’s grandmother’s farm. There are rows of corn fields on her property which Jessica loves and created perfect lead in lines that filled my photographers heart to start our session.

This sweet couple is one of the most laid back I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Their love for each other comes easy and is undeniable. The way Mark looks at Jessica absolutely melts my heart. I think my mouth actually squealed and started gushing over Mark’s natural gaze at Jessica in a particular set of photos before my brain had time to even think. I can’t even remember the number of times I told Jessica that “this shot” was going to be her favorite based on the way Mark was looking at her.

While it wasn’t in our original plan, Mark suggested a location about five miles from his grandmother’s farm where he keeps his cattle. Upon arriving I fell in love with the setting. I couldn’t believe he had kept such a beautiful location a secret! Everywhere I looked, there were more and more photographic opportunities. It was the perfect location to capture the soon to be Mr. and Mrs.

Jessica + Mark, I loved every minute I got to spend capturing your love for each other. You two are already creating a beautiful legacy for your future generations (and those who are lucky enough to be around you). Gosh, I can’t wait for your wedding! I know it will be every bit as wonderful as the two of you!
