at home pizza party family session

There is no greater honor than when a new client loves their photos so much, they book me for additional sessions. I shot Jess + Chase’s engagement session at Lake Meade a few months ago. Once they saw their images, they loved them so much they called and booked two more sessions.

The first session they booked was a family session at their home. Jess + Chase have four children between them – Chelsea, Blake, Hope and Charlotte – and love spending time all together watching movies, playing games and enjoying the lake. With every family or milestone session I do, I like to get to know the whole family finding out what their interests are and then incorporating them into the shoot.

By doing this, I’m able to capture not only what my clients look like but who they are and what matters most for them. As I always say, if you only want to be able to look back on how you look, take a selfie. If you want to be able to relive the moments that made this chapter of your life so special, hire a photographer.

From Jess + Chase: Chelsea, 12, is a typical preteen. She loves playing with make-up, goofing around with her friends and hanging out  in the kitchen making food creations. She is a great big sister and always there to help when we need her. Blake, 9, is the only boy living in a girls world. He’s our gamer and loves playing his PS4 and on his tablet. He also loves trying to figure out how everything works and build things. He definitely keeps things interesting with his facts he learns off YouTube. Hope, 6, is sassy, smart, loves to learn, messy and beautiful. She loves the outdoors and getting muddy but she also loves bing a princess. She brings the attitude and sass to our family which comes with tons of laughs and always keeps us on our toes. Charlotte, 9 months, is the baby of the family.  We never wanted anymore kids but then decided maybe one more would make sense. We sure are glad we made that decision! Charlotte made our family feel more complete.

One of their family’s favorite things to do together is have a pizza party and that’s exactly what we did. We ordered pizza from their favorite place and I stood back and captured every moment of their family fun. Seeing how families enjoy spending time together makes every session a joy.

At the very end of our session, I even overheard Blake proclaim that family photos were fun. I knew at that point that I had done my job right that day!

Jess + Chase, I am so honored you loved your engagement session so much that you asked me to shoot your beautiful family. I loved your pizza party and can’t wait to shoot your sweet daughter’s first birthday this spring!
