outdoor senior session

For the last thirteen years of your life, you’ve been waiting for this moment. You’ve spent hours studying, learned more things than you can remember and made some wonderful memories. Now, you’re embarking on your senior year of high school and before you know it, this chapter of your life will close. It’s important to capture before it’s gone.

I have known Carter and his family for years. His mom, Kathleen, teaches with my mom and I’ve even photographed the two of them together for a Mom and Me session. This past summer, as Carter was preparing to start his senior year, I joined him on their beautiful family property to take his senior photos.

From Mom, Kathleen: He makes me proud-proud of who he is and proud for the man he will be to any community he chooses to be a part of. He is kind, honest, has an impeccable work ethic (that I am envious of), and fiercely loyal. That is the foundation for everything he does.

With senior sessions, I encourage my clients to bring along two outfits as well as any items that have significance in their life right now. This allows us to maximize our time together as well as capture your hobbies and interests at this phase in your life.

Carter’s session was full of special touches that I know he and Kathleen will both cherish for years. Not only did we shoot on the property where he grew up, but we included his two dogs both of who are getting older. Every morning when Carter wakes up, the dogs tackle him in excitement as he walks out his room. They displayed the same enthusiasm as they joined their favorite guy in front of the camera. The way they laid their full body weight into him, it was clear they love Carter as much as he loves them.

When he’s not home hanging with his sweet pups, you can find Carter on the track. He’s a member of his high school’s track and field team and very involved with the group both on and off the track. It was only appropriate that one of his outfits incorporated his letterman jacket and pins!

Carter, it was such a pleasure getting to shoot your senior photos. I know your senior year is bound to be filled with lots of exciting changes as you’re about to about to embark on the next chapter of your life. Remember to soak up every moment as graduation will be here before you know it!
