Karson + Daniel are married! Surrounded by friends and family, they promised forever at their beautiful Thorpewood wedding. I’ve shared their engagement session and wedding day sneak peek already, but the full gallery is by far my favorite!
Their wedding day was filled with endless love and more celebration than any of us could have imagined – with one really big surprise for guests at the end of the night. Keep reading to find out what it was!
I have been working with Karson + Daniel for months now shooting their engagement and a boudoir session which Karson gifted Daniel the night before their big day. Over the course of our working relationship, we developed a friendship and I was so honored to be able to capture this important milestone on their journey together.
When planning their wedding, Karson + Daniel paid special attention to every detail ensuring it not only fit with their rustic theme but that it held meaning to them. While getting ready, Karson revealed the first special detail, her something borrowed. She wore a pair of heirloom diamond stud earrings that belong to her mom, who also served as matron of honor, and were passed down for generations complete with screw on backs!
After capturing both Karson + Daniel getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, it was time for the ceremony. Carrying a balsa wood bouquet, they said “I Do” in the middle of Thorpewood’s stunning pine cathedral.
At the ceremony, there were no shortage of laughs or tears as the two of them shared vows they had written for each other.
Daniel,
I stand here today in front of you and all of the people we both love so dearly, and vow to you to love you endlessly. Coming up with the right words for this has been quite a challenge, but that is because there are no words in the human language that can possibly describe my feelings for you.
Two and a half years ago I didn’t realize what an incredible journey I was about to begin, and I love that over that time, I never had to face life challenges without you by my side.
I have never felt the type of happiness like the one that you have brought to my life since the first day I met you.
I cannot wait to see what our future holds, I cannot wait to see the day we become a family, and most of all I cannot wait for our children to grow up with a role model like you in their life, because if they turn out just half as great as you are, I think we did a pretty good job.
You have made me a better person since the first day we met, and every day after. You are truly the most compassionate, caring, intelligent, trustworthy person that I have ever met. I feel like everyone thinks that about their significant other, but I know that every person that truly knows you, knows the extent to which those qualities are true.
I promise to always laugh with you, to cry with you, and to grow with you. I will love you when we are together and when we are apart. I promise to always support your dreams and to respect our differences and to be by your side through all of the days and nights of our lives. And lastly, I promise to always make ridiculous bets with you even though I know I always lose.
I say these vows, not just as a promise, but also as a privilege, because I get to spend the rest of my life loving you.
With all of that being said, I can stand here today and say with certainty that I did, I do, and I will always choose you. You are my once in a lifetime.
Karson. Where do I begin? People say you can’t have love at first sight, but, literally, it happened. Since the day I met you, you have been my everything. You are the person I am most excited for. The person I believe in the most. I have never felt a love like I do with you. You have pushed me to be a better person, to reach for my dreams. You have been there for me through 3 sports seasons a year, countless meets and games, late nights, long trips, and frustrating practices.
I promise to be your rock, to love you unconditionally.
I promise to comfort you every time you need me.
I promise to help raise our kids to be as caring and loving as their mother is.
I promise to always keep that smile on your face, and to never stop acting goofy when you are irritated just so you laugh.
I promise to tell you no every time you ask if we can adopt every dog ever.
I promise to always tell you my hands hurt when you want a back rub, but then usually give in anyway because that’s what we do.
I promise to make all your stinking Etsy projects, because I love seeing your face light up when it is finished.
I promise to always cuddle you before you go to sleep, even though it feels like I have 3rd degree burns on my thighs.
I promise to always kick your butt in Rummy, Oklahoma or West Virginia rules
I promise to push you to become a better you, because that is what you do to me every day.
I promise to work through every challenge we face, to never go to bed angry, and to love you more than ever on our worst days.
We have always been a separate Daniel and Karson, but today we are one. Before they were your dreams, and my dreams. Today, they become our dreams. Today we officially join our lives together, and I’m freakin pumped. You are the strength I didn’t know that I needed, the joy I didn’t know that I lacked. Today, I choose to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you kiddo.
Their ceremony included one other important detail, a memory table to honor Daniel’s dad who passed away when he was young. The small table included a photo of the two of them and it was the ideal photo for the occasion. Three-year-old Daniel and his dad were donning suit jackets and looked like they were at a wedding.
Karson’s wedding dress was one of my favorites. She topped her sweetheart neck, lace gown with a removable tulle skirt and beaded belt. She looked gorgeous walking down the aisle with the full tulle skirt on, but when it was time to celebrate, she surprised her groom and all the guests by removing the tulle and showing off the beautifully detailed lace gown underneath.
That wasn’t the biggest surprise of the night though. At the reception, after dinner, Karson + Daniel announced that someone else was up there at the altar with them – they were three months pregnant with their first little baby! While their families and bridal parties knew, guests were overcome with joy when they read the following letter out loud:
Daniel and Karson,
I am so glad that I got to spend this day with you. It is one that we will talk about for a long long time. One that I will be able to share with my kids and grandkids. Thank you for letting me be apart of it.
I have really enjoyed getting to know you guys, especially for the past 3 months. It is obvious how much you guys love each other. You guys are going to have an amazing life together! I am really looking forward to getting to know you guys even more and can’t wait to celebrate all of life’s important events together!
I love you guys more than you will ever know. Thank you for being a huge part of my life, for taking me for walks, eating dinner with me (even though it makes Karson sick), and for taking care of me. I can’t wait to continue to grow with you guys as we all become so close to each other! We really are going to have so much fun!
Congratulations on your wedding day Mom and Dad! I will see you guys in December!
The rest of the evening was completely filled with an abundance of joy . What a fabulous celebration for such an amazing couple!
