a raspberry and sage corporate branding session

Tamara is my co-leader of the TuesdaysTogether Gettysburg chapter. I love leading this amazing group with her and was so honored when she asked me to do the corporate branding shoot for her new microblading and permanent makeup salon, Tamara & Company. She first opened her doors in Thurmont, Maryland, in April. Before her first opening, I took photos of the salon and some corporate identity shots of Tamara. Now, she’s expanding to a second location in Westminster, Maryland and adding two amazing artists to her team, Ashley and Sara. With her second opening around the corner, it was time for updated shots with the whole team.

For this brand session, we wanted a street setting. I used Google Maps to view all the streets of Gettysburg beforehand and find the perfect location. Since we were going to be incorporating her brand colors, raspberry, blush and sage, I wanted to avoid brick walls  which are very common in Gettysburg. I was searching for white building and found an ideal location in Knob Hall Winery’s downtown location. With its many architectural arches and green doors, it couldn’t have been a better fit for this session.

Before every brand session, I schedule a consultation with my clients to discuss their session in detail. This allows them to share their expectations, the types of images they are looking for and any other important details I need to know to execute a session that meets all their current and future needs. Tamara not only has a website, but is active on social media and does a lot of printed marketing materials. I paid special attention to capture each shot as vertical and horizontal ensuring she will always have what she needs.

Tamara, Ashley + Sara picked out their outfits perfectly! Each was dressed stylishly  professional, looks that will represent them and the business well everywhere the images are used. Tamara wore green setting her apart as the owner while still coordinating with the raspberry shade Ashley + Sara were wearing.

Because Tamara is so active on social media, I wanted to capture her, Ashley + Sara together and individually in a variety of ways that can be used for every occasion. I got shots of them looking at the camera, smiling, laughing and just being themselves. Shots like this are a great way to show the personal side of every brand.

While shooting at the winery, we had many drivers shouting words of encouragement from their cars and patrons watching us through the windows of the tasting room. Having all eyes on you can make some clients nervous. However, these ladies were laughing and having fun the whole time. These little distractions actually helped create some of the most natural, beautiful shots from the whole day.

After we were done shooting outside, a few ladies that had been watching our session started to chat up Tamara.  Nothing more perfect than a mini, off the cuff consultation after a business photo shoot!  We then went inside the winery and split a bottle of wine. We got to talk with the manager of the winery ending the night with new members to our Gettysburg Tuesdays Together chapter and securing the location of our October meeting!
