My family and I consider Luke + Lydia and their two daughters Evelyn and Amelia to be framily – friends that are most definitely family. I have known Luke since I was five and have been photographing his + Lydia’s beautiful family for years. It’s such a blessing to be able to share this gift I’ve been given to preserve memories for the people I care about the most.

Luke + Lydia just finished building their dream home in East Berlin, PA. Although the home is new construction, they took special care every step of the way to bring in classic farmhouse charm. By using reclaimed materials and shopping at vintage, salvage and secondhand supply stores like Habitat ReStore, they were able to create this perfect farmhouse that feels like it already has years and years of memories within the walls.

With it’s white board and batten siding, classic black shutters and welcoming front porch, the family could not be more excited to finally be moved into their dream home. The timing of its completion was perfect for this year’s family session.

Shooting in a client’s home brings a level of ease to the session. You are comfortable and completely yourself in your home which brings out the most genuine smiles and emotions. Capturing you and your family having fun and enjoying time in a place you’re comfortable always creates beautiful photos.

One of my favorite parts about this session was being able to capture Evelyn and Amelia in their new playhouse. With the same white board and batten siding and big front porch, their playhouse is like their own mini farmhouse. The only difference between it and the big house being it’s pink shutters with adorable heart cutout. I know the girls are going to create so many amazing memories of their own playing here everyday.

Since our families are such good friends, my husband and two daughters came with me to the session. This worked out perfectly because my husband was able to play with all the girls while I snuck away with Luke + Lydia for some shots with Luke’s newly purchased old truck. They purchased this 1995 Ford F-150 to drive around their property. It’s a quintessential farm vehicle and I loved being able to use it in our session.

Luke + Lydia, as always I loved every moment spent capturing your sweet family. Your new home is absolutely stunning, every little detail perfected and I can’t wait to see how you will create amazing memories with the girls, friends and family there for years to come.
