soccer and golf outdoor senior session

Your senior year of high school is filled with so many milestones. You’re applying to colleges, preparing to be on your own for the first time and starting a brand new journey. For both you and your parents, the chapter you’re about to close is one to celebrate. It’s also one you’ll want to remember to be able to share with your own children.

Jordan is the daughter of Tamara of Tamara & Company and a senior at Catoctin High School in Thurmont, Maryland. We shot Jordan’s senior photos on her family’s property. Situated just outside of town, the wide open spaces and small pond made a perfect setting for our session.

Jordan plays both soccer and golf. It was important for us to feature each of these passions in her senior photos as a way to celebrate who she is now. We began the session by the pond capturing Jordan in her soccer uniform. The pond is one of my favorite areas on their property and the ideal place to start the day.

Across from the pond was a field of tall grass. The way the light shone down on the grassy field was perfect for shooting Jordan in her adorable flowy dress with her gorgeous long hair blowing behind her. I am so drawn to beautiful lighting like this and it makes a huge difference in your images. No matter what the backdrop is, if you have good light, you are just going to love your images so much more.

Every detail of Jordan’s session just seemed to fall right into place. Whenever this happens I get so excited embracing these perfect moments. As I was encouraging Jordan and giving her direction, she was laughing at my methods allowing me to capture her bright personality.

While finishing up in the tall grasses, Jordan’s boyfriend Justin came driving up the lane with her golf clubs. Cheering her on from the driver’s seat, Jordan’s laugh got even bigger creating some of my favorite shots of the day highlighting her beautiful smile.

Jordan, thank you for allowing me to shoot your senior photos. I had such a blast playing in the fields under the perfect light with you. I can’t wait to see where this next chapter of life takes you.
