cunningham falls lake family session

Heather and I first met years ago. We went to school together and she was one of my closest friends growing up. Her family moved away when we were in middle school, but we stayed in touch over the years. Thanks to social media, Heather was able to follow my work and now that she has two little boys she scheduled a family session of her own!

I met Heather + Keith, their two sons Caleb and Logan and the family dog Gus at Cunningham Falls Lake for their session. Not only is a beautiful spot, but the family goes there often so Caleb + Logan felt right at home. Choosing a familiar spot for a family session is ideal for kids because they’re more comfortable and excited from the start. They also get very excited to show me the area and give me a ‘tour’.

Two and a half year old Caleb loves playing in the sand. In between photos, he’d run over there and play. It was the perfect reward for taking such great pictures. Caleb is also a huge fan of PJ Masks. Every chance he could get, he showed off his big “super gekko muscles” just like his favorite character.

From Keith (Dad): My family is adventurous, fun loving and always full of laughs and smiles. Whether it’s a routine trip to the grocery store or to a new place to explore, Caleb, Logan and especially my wife Heather will make it easy and fun to enjoy. We try make the best out of every moment rain or shine. There are so many memories, it’s hard to chose, night time routines are often my favorite, playing music in the basement dancing, singing, chasing Gus the dog and just enjoying watching the smiles on my kids faces light over the simple things in life, spending time with each other.

At just nine months old, Logan is the sweetest little boy that just loved getting his picture taken. He was so easy and a simple smile from dad Keith was all it took to have him grinning from ear to ear. Even though he’s a little guy on the move, crawling around any chance he gets, we were able to grab some adorable moments of him with big brother that I know Heather + Keith will cherish for years.

One of the things I always do at a family session is grab a few images with just mom and dad. Often times they won’t have had professional photos taken together in years. Being able to capture just the two of you and your love for each other is a nice reminder of why you’re on this journey together.

Heather + Keith, It was great to spend time capturing your beautiful family in a place you all love so much. Caleb and Logan are precious and we even got some great ones of Gus!
