Gabbie + Jake are married! Last fall I captured this sweet couple’s engagement session and just a couple of weeks ago, I shared a sneak peek from their big day, but today I finally get to share every detail of their wedding and I couldn’t be more excited! Gabbie + Jake’s day was bursting with love, laughter and endless celebration at the joining of these two lives. In my ten years of photography, I don’t think I’ve ever seen two families as excited as these two become one.
#ForTheLoveOfCrist began many years ago. Their families grew up together and Gabbie’s brother would always hang out with Jake as kids. In fact, Gabbie’s brother served as Jake’s best man and with her sister as maid of honor. It was a true family affair. Gabbie + Jake had the greatest group of people supporting them on their wedding day and it truly felt like everyone was overwhelmingly, team Gabbie and Jake.
Their wedding took place at the beautiful Goldfish Barn in Fort Loudon, PA. While the temperatures were pushing 100 degrees, nothing could stop these two from having the best day ever. (Although, I’m sure Jake and his groomsmen in their full suits were thrilled that the lower barn had air conditioning!) Their ceremony took place in front of a beautifully crafted alter. Designed by Sweet William Floral, their hexagon alter was adorned in stunning florals that perfectly framed The Goldfish Barn’s breathtaking property.
Before walking down the aisle, Gabbie + Jake each got ready on property with their wedding party. The downstairs of the barn where Jake and his groomsmen got ready was the perfect blend of beauty and masculinity. The stone walls and antiqued wood beams created an ideal backdrop to capture their goofy personalities and true friendship.
On the other side of the property, Gabbie and her girls got ready in an equally beautiful space. After a morning of full of hair, make-up and plenty of laughing, it was time for Gabbie’s first look with her dad. While their entire wedding day was full of special and meaningful moments, this one with her dad was one of my favorites. When Gabbie’s dad saw his little girl for the first time, it’s like the rest of the world disappeared. He was captivated at the sight of her and immediately broke into a happy cry. He held nothing back from Gabbie or the camera and it was such a special moment to capture.
After saying their vows, Gabbie + Jake joined their guests for a fun-filled reception. The barn was draped in a fabric that mimicked Gabbie’s dress and was accentuated with navy and blush accents and a little bit of sparkle from the table runners. After dinner and a tandem toast from both special dads, it was time to celebrate with loads of dancing and a little surprise for the bride and groom.
Jake’s family has a tradition of making funny hats to celebrate all occasions. At the rehearsal dinner the night before, Jake’s family gave Gabbie her own hat to officially welcome her to the family. But, they didn’t stop there. In the middle of the reception, Jake’s family and friends pulled out neon hats and danced to the Cowboy Getdown in unison. The newly Mr. and Mrs. were shocked in the best way possible and soon joined in. It was the perfect way to cap off this perfect day for a wonderful couple!
Gabbie + Jake, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the two of you over the last year and can’t believe your wedding is already over. Your big day was full of so much love and I’m glad I got to capture it all for you. I know your future as husband and wife will be filled with so many blessings (and silly hats!). You both are blessed with such amazing families, never forget they are in your corner and I can’t wait to see how your lives unfold together.
