a c+o canal senior session

One of the things I love about photography is being able to capture the milestones in my clients’ lives. With seniors, it’s just as monumental for the parents as it is the graduate. Even though my girls are still young, I can just imagine the joy (and bit of sadness) I’ll feel when they graduate from high school. For the senior, it’s all about taking that next step. They are full of life and personality, ready to take on the world!

Shooting Angel’s senior portraits was extra special to me.  Say hello to my cousin! I’ve watched her grow from a little girl to this beautiful young woman and it was so great to catch up with her, my Aunt Frannie + Uncle Dennis and hear all about her plans for next year! We shot her portraits at the C&O Canal in Williamsport, Maryland. It’s such a fabulous spot because there are so many types of scenery all in one place. Just by turning around we had our choice of the water, abandoned railroad ties, an old industrial or stone bridge (take your pick!) and lush overgrown wooded areas. So many possibilities!

Seniors tend to bring a variety of items with them that give their images so much personality. Angel was no exception! She showed up to our session with her cap and gown, class ring and truck – all of which were perfect for showcasing who she is. Family is also a huge part of who she is, so we couldn’t end our session without grabbing a few images of her and her parents.  We even got in a few neat shots of all of their class rings!

Another fun part about senior sessions is the outfit changes. It’s funny – before our session, Angel was telling me how she doesn’t wear many dresses and isn’t very good at accessorizing. But, she showed up in the cutest dress and totally nailed her outfits to her style! She even made the three boho style necklaces and cuff bracelet she was wearing. Accessorizing and personalizing perfectly!

Angel, I had such a blast with you and was so honored you chose me to capture your senior portraits. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you and know you will be amazing at whatever path you choose!
