Over the years I’ve captured many milestone moments for Holly + Steve including annual family photos, newborn sessions for each of their boys and even Holly’s horses. Most recently I shared their maternity session and today, I’m excited to introduce to you their beautiful baby girl, Madison Renee. Born just a few days before Christmas, baby Madison was the best gift this family could have asked for.

Madison’s newborn session will always hold a special place in my heart. A few short hours before Madison’s session I found out that my beloved grandfather passed away.  If you’ve followed me for any length of time you know that over the past 4 years I take our girls to go visit my grandparents, Honey and Pappy, weekly and with just about every visit, they would ask about upcoming sessions and request to see photos of my most recent work. Just as I watched families grow over the years, so did they through our weekly visits. Seeing the joy I have for what I do made them so happy. Although emotional, I knew there was no better other way I should start this particular day than by doing the thing that brings so much joy to all of us.

From Holly: We welcomed Madison Renee on December 21st at 5:34 pm. Steve and I instantly fell in love, words can’t express how much my heart grew in that single moment when they laid her on my chest. Her brothers, Carter and Lucas along with her Nanny and Gram came to visit us the next morning. I know I’ll always remember the moment my two boys met her for the first time. They were so gentle, gave her lots of kisses, and were arguing about who could hold her first. I could tell that they shared the same love for her that Steve and I had. These newborn days have been filled with so many snuggles, dirty diapers, little coos, lots and lots of nursing, long nights and so much love as we adjust to being a family of five. Steve and I are truly blessed beyond words for our two rowdy but wonderfully sweet boys and our new precious baby girl.

When I arrived for Madison’s session, Holly was just finishing a feeding. With two other babes, Holly is a pro at knowing exactly how to prep for newborn sessions. The best (seamless) newborn sessions always happen when your little one is cozy, full and sleepy. Needless to say, Madison was a little rockstar throughout our time together.

The focus of every EBJ newborn session is capturing your new little love,preserving their precious features and capturing new bonding relationships during their first days. The ideal timing for a newborn session is within six days of their birth date. Within two weeks their appearances have changed so much already, it seems almost that you can see them grow by the hour so I always want to be sure to spend extra time on the littlest details.

In addition to capturing sweet little Madison by herself, we wanted to showcase the love her big brothers already have for her. It melts my heart to see these rambunctious little guys love on their baby sister. You can already tell they’re going to be so protective of her as she grows up! I don’t think Lucas left one section of her little cheeks unkissed!

Holly + Steve, I have loved so much watching your family grow over the years with the birth of Carter, then Lucas and now Madison. She could not be more perfect. Our “tiny friends” circle is now outnumbering the adults and it makes me so happy that Madison is now a part of it! Soak up every minute of this phase. She will be running around with her big brothers and everyone else before you know it!
