I often talk about bringing along items that have meaning to your session to make it more personal. Lauren + Don took my advice to heart and out did themselves by bringing a whole city! Lauren is from Baltimore but the city’s landmarks have significance in both of their lives.
We started our time together right before sunset on Federal Hill which provides amazing views of Charm City. This golden hour light was perfect for capturing the happy couple and the beauty of the city behind them. From here you can even see the Domino Sugar factory which is especially meaningful for Lauren.
When she was a baby and her parents couldn’t get her to sleep at night, her dad would put her in the car and drive to the Domino factory. He’d park the car and they’d listed to the sounds of the factory. They’d put her to sleep within minutes and since then the factory has held a special place in Lauren’s heart.
While the city holds a special place in each of their hearts as individuals, it’s also significant in their story together. Don proposed along the Inner Harbor which can also be seen from the top of Federal Hill. They’ll even begin their life as Mr. and Mrs. in M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Ravens, next month!
Before the sun set for the day, we walked down the Fed Hill to the American Visionary Arts Museum. Their outdoor classroom was the perfect backdrop for capturing the little details with a neutral background to put full focus on things like Lauren’s gorgeous ring and their save the date football.
Lauren + Don, I had so much fun spending the evening in Baltimore with you. Getting to see this beautiful city through your eyes and experience the places that have made who you are was truly special. I can’t wait to see how you use these images for your center pieces and for your wedding next month. The day will be just as amazing as the two of you!
