classic timeless modern family session

This session just goes to prove that family sessions are for every type of family relationship. My hairstylist Jessica (she’s the best!) and her sister Kristin contacted me about doing updated sibling photos to gift to family members this past Christmas. I couldn’t have been more excited to capture their sisterly love for the holiday season.

Just like my sister and I, Jessica + Kristin were best friends growing up. Over the years, careers and families of their own have taken them to different cities but their bond is just as strong as ever. The two ladies realized they hadn’t had professional photos taken in quite a while. With Kristin home for Thanksgiving, they decided now was the perfect time to take some updated photos.

From Jessica: Kristin has the best laugh ever! She’s obsessed with her cats and is a very passionate oncology nurse. Her patients are so lucky to have her as their nurse because she’s so compassionate and uplifting. I’m proud to call her my sister and cherish our relationship so much it brings me to tears. We are similar but different at the same time; at the end of the day we both accept each other for exactly who we are and love each other to pieces. We are truly blessed. In this chapter of our lives I’m so excited to watch my sister and Nick start growing their own little family! I can’t wait to be aunt Jessy! They set a great example for the kind of relationship I look forward to having one day! 

I met the Brown sisters at Knob Hall Winery just after sunrise. Scheduling my sessions an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset gives all my clients the best lighting!. It’s how I guarantee consistency and beautiful images for everyone. The morning of our session was no different. Perfect flattering light dancing down the streets of Gettysburg.e could not have asked for better conditions other than a little warmer temperature.

We chose Knob Hall Winery for their beautifully aged white exterior walls. With a morning shadow still cast across the wall, the classic, timeless and modern setting served as the perfect backdrop to capture these gorgeous sisters. With Kristin’s husband Nick along for the ride, I was even able to capture a few shots of the two of them together.
