Most family sessions you see include mom, dad and young kids. As the kids grow and start families of their own they begin taking their own family photos. However, continuing to capture the bond and relationship of the now grown children and their parents is just as important.

Robin and her family had not had a professional family session since she was 12. Needless to say, it was time for one! Over the years, Robin’s family has grown. Her brother Corey is now married to Heather with two children (Campbell, 12, and Lillie, 10) of his own and Robin’s boyfriend Dieter is an active part of the family. When she was home visiting from California, I joined her, her parents Ramonna and Scott, her brother and her brother’s family at Renfrew Park for a much needed family session.

As families grow over the years, family sessions become more fun. There are more relationships to capture, love to share and laughs to be had. For families that don’t live close to each other, it’s a beautiful way to remember the good times when distance separates you.

With each of my sessions, I like to focus on the things that each client loves to do. It helps capture the essence of who they are and provides the perfect environment for capturing genuine smiles and laughter.

From Robin: My family loves to spend time together doing fun things when we can. The day before the shoot we all went to see a Penn State football game. It is a family pasttime for Corey’s family but this was the first time my mom and Lillie got to go. Earlier in the week, my mom, the girls and some of my other family member did a float on the Conococheague River. It’s always a fun time!

Robin’s family loves to play games. For our session, they brought along a giant Jenga set that friends and family signed for her sister-in-law Heather’s 40th birthday. They started a game, and acted as their personal paparazzi, I was able to capture the biggest laughs and sweetest smiles from this fun loving family.

Robin, thank you for allowing me to capture your amazing family. I had a wonderful time at the park playing Jenga with you all. I know your mom must be so happy to finally have updated family photos! We’ll have to do it again next time you visit!
